On Saturday we have a nice slate of MLS soccer action. There are four MLS games.

I took a look at a couple sportsbooks to see what the MLS betting lines looked like for Saturday’s matches.

MLS Game One: Toronto FC at Chicago Fire

Toronto FC is +200 on the road and the Fire are +115. The draw is +215. This is an interesting play, because Toronto FC has yet to score a goal. I’ll talk more about this game later today.

It’s a rather dubious honor, but Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids make MLS history last night.

After about 15 minutes of the match had been played, the score was 1-1 and both scores were own goals.

The rest of the match was pretty soft and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

Later this 2007 MLS season, David Beckham, 32, will leave Real Madrid and officially join the LA Galaxy and being playing.

Beckham is shattering the currently MLS pay scale. According to the MLS Player’s Union, he will receive $6.5 million in guaranteed compensation this season.

That shatters the MLS average, which is under $100,000 annually.

The 2007 MLS season sees the addition of a new team—Toronto FC. Now that there are 13 teams in the MLS, the scheduling system had to be revised.

First, each MLS team is playing all other MLS teams twice. One game will be at home and the other away. That gets the teams to 24 games. The other six games are against teams in the same conference.

Toronto FC is experiencing growing pains. They are 0-4 and have yet to score a single goal. They’ve also given up the second most goals in the MLS—Real Salt Lake (0-2-3) has given up 11.

On Saturday, April 28, Toronto FC has their home debut against the Kansas City Wizards. Just over 20,000 soccer fans attended to watch a hard-fought match.

It’s beginning to look a lot like 2006 for Chivas USA—where they won only three road matches.

Chivas USA has played three matches on the road in the 2007 MLS season and they are 0-3. In those matches, they’ve given up 6 goals and only scored two.
